Amsterdam Bikes - The Collection
...the best way to enjoy the city of Amsterdam is with a bike. Unfortunately, I was travelling with someone that doesnt know how to ride a bicycle.

M&T's European Escape 2011
From April 1 - 17. Seventeen days and not a single fight, errr...even with our heavy bags & sore feet! It was all good fun!

Shrimps & Shrimps
The Peak - Bubba Gump, Hongkong
Even though I have frequent Hongkong since I was a child, I could not recall having visited The Peak. So I welcomed the suggestion of going up to The Peak this last trip. Nothing really great on top...mostly smog; the weather was foul - cloudy skies.

Honestly, theres not much things to do at The Peak, quite boring infact, it was good that Bubba Gump came to the rescue (I remembered how I used to love dinning at Bubba Gump back when I was still in Manila, some 10 eon years ago). Seeing Bubba at The Peak was just perfect.
Having just finished breakfast, Sel & I decided to order something light.
Shrimper's Net Catch
(3/4 pound Peel n' Eat Shrimp Steamed in Beer.
Half in Garlic Spice & Half in Cajun Spice)
Shrimp Rigatoni
(Tender sauteéd Shrimp, Rigatoni, and fresh Spinach in
Sundried Tomato Pesto Cream Sauce, with fresh Parmesan Cheese.)
It was a relaxing experience with the shrimps that morning - as we were able to avoid the lunch crowd. Great!
I wonder when will Bubba come to Singapore? Hmm...

The Chimp & The Ring

Once a upon a time, about 1389 nautical miles from Singapore the Chimp got...
Disguised as a surprise advance 30th birthday celebration on the 29th floor of One Peking Road - the Aqua Roma, Aqua Tokyo, Aqua Spirit - the night seems just as per what it was intended for.
Enjoying the uninterrupted view of the Hongkong harbour, the menu was served.
Noticeably the ambiance was both snobbish and cozy, everyone well dressed and the guests - no walk-ins, only by reservations.
The food came and the night carried on...

In the end the Chimp accepted the proposal and wore the ring. It was also during this time that the Chimp was too excited that she forgot to take photos - of the book and the ring - on location.
And so, this morning, almost a week has past, the Chimp decided to take some photos for documentation.
As the night past and dinner was over... just right when you think it's about time to head back, another surprise came...
" I actually have a gift for you... it's inside my bag..." The guy uttered.
More words were uttered before he could reach for the book... and with the book & the ring, the chimp was surprised.

Never visit Honkong without going to this small restaurant in Causeway Bay - Delicious Kitchen. Time and time again, I have proven that most people that I have either brought or recommended to this place did enjoy their meal - especially their Porkchop on Vegetable Rice...
Last week was Selwyn and my gosh the waiter had to stop him from ordering more things, telling us that what we have ordered is more than enough for the two of us. Portions were big!

Beach-ed!
Tanjong Beach Club, Sentosa.
Although I have been living in Singapore for the past 4.5 years, I still can't get past the fact that I am living in an island. I would occasionally whine about having a boring life living here simply because there is nothing to do - ok except probably visit the malls and shop. But until when can you shop?
We got an invite to check out the Tanjong Beach Club, one Sunday afternoon - I was stoked. Do something different for a change.

Flying 101 | Kulula Airlines
Flying 101, the latest aircraft released by South African budget airline Kulula aims to bring humor to the skies - changing the typical exterior look of an aircraft.
With a typographic approach in graphic design, it is able to educated people on the locations of the different parts of the aircraft - clearly labelling them from the outside. Humorous captions beside each label makes it an interesting read all together.

A Blast to the Past - Japan
Shirakawa-go, Japan
Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawa-go is a historic village in Gifu near the town of Takayama. As we approach the village by bus, the first thing that came into my mind was the movie - The Last Samurai by Tom Cruise. It looked like the tiny village in the movie.
I was impressed by the condition of the traditional houses, it is well preserved and still in use up to this date. The town is simple, you'll discover places by foot. There are also local shops for tourists selling souvenirs, traditional foods, a grocery and a small mini mart... and that's about all. For these places, the main thing is to enjoy the beautiful picturesque landscape against a surreal local reality and probably take time to compare the drastic differences to today's modern day life in the bigger city.
But if you're looking for a different experience all together, I suggest you stay in town for the night - 1 night would be enough; 2 nights may bore you to death.
We stayed at the Shimizu Inn for a night. About ¥8400/person per night you get to experience staying in a traditional house, in a tatami room(common toilet outside the room) with breakfast and dinner. It is wise to get the meals included as it gets really dark outside during the night and it would be impossible to find a restaurant around the village. So either you pop by the grocery store first before night fall or enjoy the meals at the inn.
Food is served at the fireplace, where you'll get to enjoy the famous Hida beef and a variety home cooked dishes for dinner, while for breakfast, you'll get a traditional Japanese set.
We had an awesome time all together...

Prague & Kutna Hora
2 Types of Exercise I Do While Traveling - Eating & Walking.
I have realised that eating & walking must be done together during the duration of your holiday to prevent depression. Neither you can walk the whole day without eating (else, you'll collapse), nor eat whole day without walking(else, you'll look like dumbo). Either way you end up being depressed. Although, I know I can still cut down on the eating part.
