Destination: Cappadocia, Turkey

Travelling has been one of the most enjoyable part of my life thus far. I learn a lot from all of my trips - culture, people, history & life itself. It makes reasoning more sane I guess - to be able to see things differently in a much broader perspective.

Exploring is good. Last year we had a chance to explore Turkey – we went around the country and discovered a lot of new things – especially the part where we spent time in Cappadocia.

Cappadocia is a region in central Turkey, southeast of Ankara. It is famous for its rock formations and underground cities where they established the early churches mentioned in the Bible.

Apart from touring the underground cities and seeing the early churches, we also had a chance to stay in a cave - turned into a modern hotel but retaining its original form & charm – the Gamirasu. The experience was definitely breath taking!

Caves carved out of the mountains.

Outside our hotel -- our neighbors!

Our Room - the owner of the hotel told us that this room used to be a stable back in those days.

Me - Overlooking the city! So unreal!

While we were at the top of this hill, my dad told me that this is the time to take a lot of pictures (he knows I love to take photos) because it might take me a long while before I return to this place.  I did take a lot of photos during that time, but I told myself, I will make it a point that I am back here soon.  I just need the $$$! :)
