After a long day at work, there is no way I want to settle for the next door chicken-chop place or the corner 24-hr ramen house in Amoy street. So I decided why not go a little bit further, near Chinatown for some real Filipino food - Bonifacio style. The last time I went there was when my sister was here, about 6 months ago.
I like going to this restaurant because of it's very homey ambiance. The presentation & taste of the food also brings back memories of having a real meal at home with some really nice home-cooked dishes, which I rarely get to experience ever since I left Manila, about 9 years ago (4 in Sydney and almost 5 in SG).
Deciding what to order is a real challenge, it seems like you need to have a taste of everything - but thinking that this is dinner time and I can't afford to eat like a pig and there will always be a next time, we ended up with these ...
Tokwa't Tokwa > Deep-fried Tofu Served with Vinegar Soy Sauce
Bayan Ko > Eggplant Omelette with Minced Pork
Katipuneros > Chicken and Pork Adobo Served in a bed of Kangkong
Palitaw > Rice Patties covered with Sweet Grated Coconut, Sesame Seeds and Topped with Cheese
